Arthur Berman's monthly World Oil column canceled

It is safe to say that the major players are well past the stock selling stage when it comes to the Haynesville Shale. One of his decline projections was destroyed, being that the well made more gas in a little over a few months than it would have in a lifetime based on Mr. Berman's estimate..
When it comes to the viability and total recovery of Haynesville wells I will bank with those who have invested billions and bet their entire corporate future's right here in the Haynesville play. While no one would want any voice of dissent silenced, Berman, instead of re-evalutaing his earlier statements on shale gas declines he has decided to circle the wagons and follow up bad information with indignance.

He has been on a whirlwind tour of geological society meetings spewing his anti shale venom. With all of this extra consulting income he probably did not need the World Oil gig any more. Facts are facts and I chose to believe in them rather than his flawed prognostications.

Yes, Jay has always been the voice of expert reason on this site since it's inception, at one time he was the shale guru for everyone.
Not to say that he isn't the pre-eminent geologist on the site now. Jay is an asset we are proud to have.

Another reason his "analysis" bothered me is that he is a geologist. So am I. We are not trained in the field of reservoir production analysis. So, with this in mind I look at the production rates (the real ones on the real horizontal wells) and defer to groups like Tudor Pickering and Schumberger for their expert ENGINEERING analysis of the reservoir. I have posted production from many Haynesville wells that refute his analysis and will continue to do so.

You are a geologist?....I'm not sure what kind... I'm a geologist also...with 35 years experience...and I have never said...not a single time "I'm just a geologist...I'll leave it to the experts like Tudor Pickering and Schlumberger"

What ShaleGeo is Saying is that he is a geologist and not a reservoir engineeer, I think that is easy to establish, maybe you can enlighten us on the characteristics of the haynesville shale reservoir.
