as we know, the so called 'empire state' , ny, has banned fracking, thus, precluding marcellus development there.

i just wonder if we let it be known that we've come up with a new, novel and environmentally benign manner of fracking by using  'unicorn dreams' as the primary frack fluid with 'moonbeams' as the secondary component, if it'd fly?

yeah, i bet they'll buy it/that.

Jim are you saying that the operators may start whitewashing rat turds and selling them for rice?

I think most folks have been separated from their drinking water source, and expect clean water to flow from their faucets when they want it.  The days of drawing water out of a well, a bucket at a time, are memories.  Those who have their own wells rarely maintain those wells themselves, if water doesn't come out of the pipe, call someone who can make it come out.

Being separated from the "source" and the low cost of water pushes it's real value down, when you expect something and take it for granted, the true value suffers.  We flush clean drinkable water down toilets, water our lawns with that same treated water, and gaff at the idea of re-using water with poop in it.

I don't think that water used in Fracking will be replaced with another solvent, water works too well.  Cost increases will encourage recycling, but everybody still wants cheap water.  Water doesn't become valuable unit it's gone.

p.s. this may be somewhat ot, but as of this writing, the spread between wti and brent has narrowed to about $4.00. and, it looks to me like its been wti's rising more than brent's falling. these are good days.
