How much does it cost to construct a horizontal gas well?  It is as expensive as constructing the initial gas well?

TIA.

Depth?

Length?

Location?

Gas/Oil?

They will most likely need these details to even consider an estimate on cost I would think

Hii Bill R,

Just checked this site.  I'll get back to you later this evening.

I'm searching and can not find that information.  Where would it be located?  Would it matter that these are horizontal wells?

I keep get all of these notices from an Attorney's Office regarding these wells.

Louisiana or Texas? It matters because different locations find the shale at different depths which impacts the cost.

Would it matter that these are horizontal wells?

Since we don't know the situation or what the attorney letters are in reference to it would be impossible to say. The two states have different rules on production sharing/cross unit laterals and who has to receive notice. Then there are rules about what the party receiving notice can do with that information.

Is there a serial number (LA) or API # (TX) you can supply so we can look up the well?

The Well is located in DeSoto Parish

Well Number - 635739  Muse 24-14-15 1H

TIA.

The 635739 is Chesapeake's Serial Number.  The actual Well Serial Number is 243562.

The well cost $10,143,724.81.

A new well exactly the same would probably cost 20 to 25% less.  However most new wells are not exactly the same as wells completed that many years ago (3/2012).

LN, there are now two Cross Unit Lateral wells which include all or part of Section 24.  Muse 13 & 14 -14 -15 HC (S/N 249067) and BSA 12 & 13 & 24 - 14 - 15 HC (S/N 249145).

Thanks Skip.

You're welcome.
