Go Haynesville Shale

I have heard that leases are being bought in Columbia County and don't know whether they are hunting for Haynesville Shale or just looking for oil. Has anyone heard anything on this?

Does anyone know anything about the well being drilled just south of Magnolia on highway 19 - right next to the highway -- just south of the Abilities Unlimited facility????

Hey Aubrey, I still have not signed my lease offered from Hunter Smith. Do you have any info on that area yet?

Section 17, Township 18 South – Range 22 West, Columbia County, AR

Thanks!

I don't check the comments too often but since you're talking about leasing in Columbia County, my cousins, siblings, and I own mineral rights on land just north of Waldo (we sold the land about 6 years ago). 3-T Explorations out of Wichita Falls leased from us shortly thereafter and surprisingly, just sent a renewal of that lease this last month. In checking with the Arkansas Oil & Gas Commission, 3-T has only been permitted for one well in the Waldo Field just a mile east of where our mineral rights are. We found it interesting that they were securing a renewal on our rights since there has been absolutely no activity from them on our lease. Do you find the renewal unusual and possibly something to hope for on our part? Thanks. Karen (Jackson) Goudelock, Shalimar, FL

Karen,

I thought I posted reply last nite to your inquiry. Apparently I sent it Pony Express and I am in Arizona. As an oil and gas operator, land owner and geologist I can tell you that an offer to lease your land another time, or renew your lease is not at all unusual. If you have not renewed yet, get better terms this time. Don't ever give up hope and don't ever sell your mineral interests. Unlike in La. your minerals in Ar. are held in perpitiuty. I wish you the best and Merry Christmas. My sentiments are always for landowner after seeing much abuse by O&G operators on family property. NO MORE< EVER. Must operators are honest people trying to make a living like you and I. But, in my 76 years on earth I have seen a lot of abuse. But, always by small operators on shoestring budget. Good Luck!!!!

I own a very small interest in some land near the Macedonia community in Columbia County. Someone is leasing, I think paying $300 per acre. I heard this second hand from a relative, so I don't know how accurate it is.

I have some mineral interests around the same community. Keep us posted if any more leasing efforts come about. Thanks.

Is anyone getting lease offers ???? I have heard that a big company is in Columbia county and leasing thousands of acres for $300 and 25% . I don't know what the play is, brown dense or sub salt ???????

There is still some activity in the county, but the price has come WAY down after the EOG dry hole in Lafayette County. Everyone said that their well was for the Brown Dense formation. I called the oil and gas commission in El Dorado, Arkansas and they said no wells produce from that formation in the whole state. One company that was paying $200 per acre for leases in Columbia County now is offering $75 per acre in a different area. I heard that they completely stopped leasing in the first area. Anyone else getting lease offers???

COLUMBIA COUNTY LEASE OFFERD THIS WEEK. TERMS WERE LESS THAN ATTRACTIVE. NO WRITTEN OFFER JUST PHONE OFFER FOR A LEASE WITH EXTENDED LEASE TERM AND OPTION, LOW LEASE PER ACRE AND ROYALTY.

CALLED THE TAX ASSESOR OFFICE AND FOUND THAT THIS OFFICE HAS BEEN VERY BUSY WITH LAND MEN OVER THE PAST FIVE WEEKS.

I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION OF RECENT OFFERS MADE IN COLUMBIA COUNTY.

the court house has been full and I don't know whether this is a gas play or might have a bit of oil involved.
