Break out the checkbook boys....
I am not up on drilling terms. What is a kick ? Also on Sonris under drill status it says 05 what does that mean if anything.
kick=influx of formation fluid (or gas) into the wellbore while drilling. No idea what 05 means, but I bet they are fishing drillstring.
Status Code 05, Drilling (New drill/Re-entry/Re-Permit). As opposed to Status Code 04, Drilling (Sidetrack of Existing Well).
hopefully they recovered the string and are drilling ahead... with a modified mud program!
Would the kick have caused the drill string to become stuck or some other event.
thanks for the information Steve.
You are welcome!
Looks like they give up on the Fish job, starting over on the lateral.
"3/27/12, SET 500' CEMENT PLUG FROM 9378'-9878'. 4/2/12, RE-TEST BOP. 4/2/12, SET THE WHIPSTOCK AT 9510'. 4/2/12, MILLING AT 9520'."
Please explain. Does this mean they could lose the well?
