Vertical, 2.3 miles NW of Trinity, on the Trinity/Walker County line.  Maybe good for Kittrell?

Is this well on the old "Fire Tower" Road area....FM 230....?  Just curious....and Thank You!

Looks to be just pass the Barrow Shaver well on the left towards the river. Have you seen any activity on that side of the road?

Howdy Lucky 347....

No, I haven't seen any activity on that side of the road until now.  Word is that the pad is complete.  I went by the site and the gates for access off of FM 230 were locked this weekend.  It is still just inside Trinity County....but, at least it's getting closer to the Walker County line and the part of Walker County that is on the east side of the river!

Has anybody got an update on this well? I have heard that a new well is bring drilled in Trinity but am not sure where, so wondered if this is it?

Gate locked. Still just an empty pad. Haven't seen anybody going or coming.

Rode by it yesterday, Lucky....and I noted the same....empty pad and the gate is locked.  I'll inquire a bit down at the "Feed Store" and see if anyone has any new information.

I know that wells have to be permitted, and reported on once drilled/completed.  But can does anyone know if there is public notification of when drilling actually starts on a well?  That is, is there a way to be informed that drilling has actually commenced on a previously permitted well?

Baker Hughes has a map of all the active drill sites (not much info but free).

Rig Data has a subscription service with a weekly newsletter (pdf, e-mail) which has all the details (well name, location, operator, driller, rig #, spud date).

There is no other way to know that drilling has begun on a specific location. The spud date is reported to the state and will appear on the permit page on RRC eventually but usually many months after the fact. A good network of neighbors (grapevine) works, too.
