All,

New W1 filed today - Fifty (50) feet from the Temple Industries 1 drilled by Shell, and near the Forestar well in Apple Springs.  Temple%20Industries%202.pdf

its a 3000 feet wildcat.  Operator is listed as OGP Trinity LLC who has only 1 other permit, a re-enter near Friday, TX on the Holmes #1 - For those not in the know, this is also, relatively speaking, close to Pennington.

You know these guys are tied to beginnings in Crockett, right? Dr. Carl Goolsby was a doctor in Crockett for many years. Many of us spent alot of time in Brown and Goolsby Medical and Surgical.

Joseph

Didn't know that - but helps with the context, a lot.  I've seen Dr. Haeckler in Crockett a time or two, and have had family that required the services of the current Dr. Morrison a time or two.

dbob,

I though Thursday was close to Friday  lol     -------- The Surface pipe in the Forestar is probably deeper than this --------- guess they got a Farmout from Someone and will not have to build a Road or Water Well ----------- wonder if they are trying to extend the shallow field at Little Centerville down here? ----------- anyone know what zone this will be ?  ------ glad someones trying something

 Joseph,

Where did you find the Crockett connections ?

Stuff in Little Centerville is Carrizo, i think.  Target would be roughly the same in Apple Springs, but I think the Carrizo is a conventional reservoir, and it probably isn't continuous to Apple Springs.

Think that shallow trend starts near Shady Grove in HC and drops in and out every few miles across to L Centerville ----- that field was found by accident about 30 yrs ago when a deep well was drilling surface pipe and oil covered the pit ------ Some of those wells are pretty good and several have been drilled with a large Water Well Truck  ------- Think I remember one well at Centerville making 1 million mcfd and another making >30 bopd and the wells were relatively cheap to drill and complete  some of the pump jacks are about the size of a kids hobby horse and have a Briggs & Stratton Lawnmower engine on um --- spacing allowables are very tight ------ Think one of the early developers of this shallow play was a guy named Gary Lewis (PAM Petroleum)

I recognized the corporation name. Google it and look at the several of the links. J.D. Woodward was a big football star at Crockett High School in 66-67, then went on to play for A&M 67-70. He was short and stocky but boy he could get through the line and run. Now he has a pretty good rep as an oil exec. Dr. Goolsby was listed originally as one of the corporate officers but he died in 1989. His relatives are listed now as officers or directors. I could make a fairly decent historian for Houston and Trinity Counties--comes from being around so long.

BLM reports 11 tracts nominated for bids some of them are in the Apple Springs area looks like things may start to heat-up a little in Trinity Co.

Managing to confirm a Carrizo test near the old shell well -------- they must have seen something in the mud returns or logs while they were drilling the Forestar. Maybe this will be a accident repeat of 30 yrs ago -----Been trying to watch the strip between I 45 and the Neches River ---- Too much going on now --- I am no longer able to keep up with Weldon area or Madison Co.  as the play has Broadened & Lengthened quite a bit  this year.
