CR,

Randy is my attorney also. I am so thankful that I found him.

My son is one of those children that is interested in EVERYTHING, hunting, fishing, History, medical,..... He is a bunch of fun as long as he doesn't give you a headache with his never ending questions.

We bought a small sword from the bagpipe booth and he has told everyone about the festival and that he is Scottish and Irish. Are there any books that you can recommend on the Borders?

CR,

OK. So you weren't one of the fellows in a kilt.

We had a nice time at the festival. My son now wants a Highland cow, so that was one of the highlights for him. Playing the bagpipes was the highlight for me.

I may have told you that I would pull the Celtic zodiac discussion to the front page. I'll look for it and do that again. It was pretty interesting.

That little outing has my son very interested in "heritage" now. He wants to do the DNA testing to find out if he belongs to some clan. I saved the papers that we picked up at every booth. I'll have to look through them. He tends to be a persistent child.

Hi CR,

Were you and your wife the couple with the Highland cows?

You'll have to remind me what we were talking about.

Hi CR, this leasing situation has turned into a mess over the past couple of months, hasn't it? I started researching the LA State Law Codes for Mineral rights when I realized that drilling was gonna progress without me and I wanted to know my rights once the drilling was done. I don't have a big problem missing the bonus money but I expect any company to honor my rights and pay me my part once any well in my section is put into operation.

There is a website, I think I typed in http://law.justia.com/louisiana/codes/15/86885.html, I believe that will pull up the LA Title 30 Mineral Codes. Pay close attention to RS 30:10, RS 30:103, 103.1, 103.2 and RS 30:104 as they pertain mostly to individual landowner rights. I hope this helps, also KB on this site is very well versed in the codes and has helped me and others with code advice so if you don't find what you need you might comment to KB for more help.

I doubt it. I don't think you could buy an acre with minerals. But lookie here, my brother just signed with Chs on his little 2/10 acre lot on Blom Blvd. I think they got 15K/acre. I think he'll get $3000. But it's all good.
I got to go to the Dr. Jimbo is here and says hey. I'll hollar at you later.

Somebody get me some of dem haynesville shells.

CR -- I just realized... I think I'm in the same group of landowners with you. It was those snarky landmen that drove me to your group. I want to thank your group for taking me.

CR, Yes, we've all dealt with snarky landmen and gas companies behind them. I'm hoping my stuff all wraps up within a week or so, and I get my cash and move on. It's been a real learning experience -- not just about gas and leasing, but human nature too.

CR, I left a message on the Red River parish site about going non-consent. I may not have explained it as well as I could. But, if you go to the homepage of this site, and look under "Featured Discussions" and under "Forced Pooling," you'll see a long thread on this topic. I think the only mis-information you might find in there is some people say it's a 200% penalty for going non-consent (i.e., the driller gets his expenses plus another 100% for risk). I think most people agree that for a landowner, the penalty is only 100% (the driller gets to recoup his expenses, and no risk extra).
