"Is C6 the same as Cypress Operating? We recently leased a few mineral acres in Columbia for the "North Kerlin Prospect", going down to top of Smackover formation. It seems they were a smaller outfit anxious to proceed."
"Hi Hog_Ark, Skip, & everyone -
Most of our land is in Columbia Co. but we have 20 A in Union. Just this week I got a letter from a Little Rock firm called "Land Assessors" expressing an interest in buying land in Union. …"
"In SW Arkansas, rates seem to be around $6/acre + proof of liability insurance ($1 million, ideally).
Usually there are provisos about lessees obeying all game laws, no permanent stands attached to timber, and sometimes more active things like…"
"Thanks Polly - I just got back from elk/deer hunting (surprise!) so I'll be back to looking into this offer soon.
Does anyone else have experience with Atlanta Oil, and/or suggestions for what specifically I want to put in the…"
"Hi folks -
I've been reading but not much to comment on till now, and I'm replying to Polly as I know you are in my area. Our family has about 400+ acres in columbia and mostly leased to SWN, which hasn't offered to renew or…"
"Thanks Aubrey - I'm close to wrapping up several estates (finally appointed as mom's executor) and my brother has been in touch with the mineral people up to this point. So I am playing catch-up on these matters. Oddly enough,…"
"I've been out of the loop for awhile, I don't think of heard from Cougar about this seismic work. I'd be open for it if it doesn't conflict with existing leases and some HBP we have in Columbia. Do they still have an…"
"Shirley, you're elcome! Please keep me informed. I made a partial copy of the original division order for Franks Warnock #2, but only to the point shoing my mom''s interest. It will be several months before I…"
"I have some interests there being paid by Lion Oil. they apparently bought the oils from wells brought in by McQuarrie (now Bonanza Creek). Paying royalties at same %, apparently the area is unitized or held by production. I…"
"Bill, I'd be interested in knowing who the land man was on that July lease. We still have some bits and pieces to lease in that area. Our previous land man got reassigned elsewhere after the Roberson well pipeline deal…"
"A relative may have just gotten a similar offer. Bonus was only $75/acre and 3/16 royalty, but specifically shallower than BD.
I wonder: Who is the company, and what's the bonus they offered?
What are the chances of numerous…"
Joe, I don't think you will be jinxing anything regarding your ROW negotiations by discussing generalities on GHS. You'll have to read your O&G lease, if you have one, to see if it covers ROWs. Don't rely on someone in the timber industry to do anything beyond set a value for your timber. Good Luck.
Hello! I hope the site is a place for you to learn, network and contribute. My name is Keith and I started the site in June of 2008 to open up lines of communication between landowners. Since then, we have grown to over 13,000 members.
Because our network has grown word-of-mouth, I want to encourage you to invite your friends and family by clicking here.
There are a couple things you should check out. 1) Check out current discussions. 2) Join in on the County and Parish Groups. By joining a County or Parish, you are networking locally with people who share similar concerns.
Be sure to read up on how to navigate the site HERE. This will help you get the most out of the site.
As a member, should you ever be on the recieving end of crudeness, rudeness or spam, let me know. The site is a peered monitored site and we need your assistance.
As exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More
