Is that what these are going to be? http://dnr.louisiana.gov/cons/CONSEREN/hearings/2009/12DEC/09-1371.pdf If so it will be interesting to follow Exco's progress.

Electro, What does last forever? Certainly not the Haynesville either.

I'm starting to think they can throw a horizontal 3' down and get at least 5million/day :)

Exactly, I was wondering if this redefinition might take precedent over a contract depth restriction. Anyone?

Questar just completed a horizontal Cotton Valley well in Section 4 of 14/11 that IP'd at 9.893 million/day . That is a Cotton Valley, not a Haynesville!

Bacon, Thank you for providing the attachment. One thought that comes to mind is a land owner with a sizable interest in that section may have a verticle Pugh clause that limits the lease to 100 feet or so below the Hosston formation. If the HA zone…

EOG is drilling a cv well horizontal well at Driscoll field in Bienville Ph now.

Bacon, Chk request to redefine the Haynesville to 9930' - 11963' may be just so it will cover the entire Haynesville/Bossier Shale interval. This would allow both plays to be developed without having to file for new units.

What are your thought on the site? You have been a member for some time...any thoughts...good or bad? What would the site benefit from? Email me at haynesvilleshale@yahoo.com.

On a side note, would you like to admin the CNG cars group? You seem to have the interest and knowledge.

North LA,

I don't have all of the details, but I can tell you this. There is a well going in at Summerfield that has the makings of being something big. I did speak with someone at the drilling company (in Ruston), but they were very noncommital (surprise, surprise!). Additionally, I have noticed that there are several operating wells over around Dowdy Field, which I estimate are about 5 to 7 miles from my family's place, and there always seems to be something going on around Colquitt.

All of this is very promising. This, coupled with Graysands' announcment about Sklar opening a satellite office in Arcadia are indications that someone believes there's gas and/or oil in Claiborne Parish. Here's hoping they keep moving our way.

I check the Sonris site weekly. BTW, I spoke with DNR's local rep, and while he says it has slowed down, the potential is still there, and will be when things improve nationally.

Let me know when something big is happening around Lillie/Bernice.

North LA,

I do take comfort in some of the postings of late. I realize the national economy is a basket case right now, and with the tightening credit markets, well investments are bound to be flagging. However, the activity in our parts seems to be bucking the tread ever so slightly. Hopefully, that will continue.

Thanks for the reply. Stay in touch!

North LA,

Hopefully, I am not being a Pollyanna, but I believe as the old adage goes, where there's smoke...well, you know the rest!

North LA,

There are some very promising information on 2 threads: Horizontal Smackover and Nice Presentation. So, in your estimation, what does this mean for the Lillie/Junction City area?

Thanks!

Hi N LA,

Thanks for the URL on the drug sugammadex. It looks like an interesting drug. The pharmaceutical action is to reverse the action of the muscle relaxant given before surgery.

However, the FDA did not issue a refusal to file letter just for an allergic reaction in 1 person. The CNN writer singled this adverse event out for a casual eyecatching news tactic. Further down in the story the writer relays the "rest of the story."

[In March, the drug had received unanimous support from an FDA advisory panel, which said it appeared to be safe and effective. At the time, FDA staff had said they were concerned about allergic reactions that appeared linked to the drug in three patients, the possibility it might cause a heart rhythm problem, and a chance the product could interfere with bone healing. The agency, however, noted that there was a possibility of allergic reactions to all drugs and said concern about bone impact is based on animal and not human studies.]

The heart and bone issues are a lot more serious. Furthermore, a common muscle relaxant used in surgery is succinylcholine... and it already has FDA warnings in its labeling about heart rhythm adverse events. You may not want to add to these chances along with another drug given at the same time as this one.

But Schering could still probably get this approved with further study or limiting the situations for it to be given, such as to higher risk surgeries that might really benefit from a quick recovery.

Oh.... I hope you don't have much stock in Schering Plough...:-)

Thanks again,
ShaleRider

North La,

Thanks for the reading material. The only problem is I couldn't access them directly, so I guess I'll key them up and see where it goes.

Again, thanks for your resources!
