Very good... may the wave of plants switching to NG continue for years to come. What's the status of Swepco's downtown Shreveport plant? I hear there's a noise problem. Will that be resolved after testing? jhh

Good for Mr. Tillerson. But i fear his support could be the kiss of death for NG. Just gives our energy department another reason to hate NG. jhh

Exxon's major holdings are in oil, so they will continue to push it. Their move to get into natural gas says more than their words in my opinion. Converting vehicles to gas is not that expensive, and the payoff to get off foreign oil would be tremen…

I don't disagree, good points.

I support him on that front, he just made a statement saying that on average men had a higher aptitude in some maths and sciences, which studies show to be a statement of fact. I hate political correctness more than anything in the world, it has rui…

He also had some little sexual discrimination problem too... didn't he? But all of that is in the past... can't we just move on? HA! In regard to the article... i'm encouraged he acknowledges the role of natural gas in the energy mix... but it seeme…

The blue hole

Summer time as a teenager was to have a great swimming place. We had one. Dorchee Bayou north of Dixie Inn. We called it the blue hole. I never new why we called all the good swimming hole the blue hole but we did. Loaded up brothers Pontiac Chieftain with ice chest, colas and lunch and a couple of buddies and made the trip. The last few miles up a dirt road being careful not to get stuck and arrive early.

Bayou is spring feed and cool with nice swimming beach and a mighty willow tree with a ro… Continue

Two notches

Why I don’t like alligators. Back in the 80’s I owned a camp on Toledo Bend Lake on the Texas side near English Marina. Fishing and wildlife at it’s best. Only downside was a gator named “Two Notches”. At some time in his life he had encountered a boat propeller and lost two notches on his tail.

Two Notches spent the summer at Golden Shore Marina just north of us and as I understand it… they fed him! A lot questions come to mind. Why feed him? Why feed an animal with no hair? Don’t feed any ani… Continue

Fang

Friend of mine told me about a little lake in Arkansas called Dierks Lake, full of fish. That’s all I needed to hear, load up the camping gear in the boat and SUV and me and the wife were off for a nice weekend.

Set up camp, nice view of the lake, headed out for a quick fishing trip before dark and a thunderstorm came in, we rode it out in the boat but when we got back we found the tent had blown down. That was my sign but I did not heed it.

Put the tent back up and blew up the air mattress, h… Continue

Why is everthing $5

Friday starts with sever storm warnings. My daughter who is afraid of bad weather always spends the night with us in bad weather. That includes her two pug dogs who goal in life to lick your legs right after you get out of the shower.

Non the less I make a trip to Academy Sports to buy fishing baits and a life vest for a fishing trip and stunned to find fishing baits are $5 a piece. Are they made out of oil?

Well I only bought 4 and decided to buy a hook sharpener to make them last at least ti… Continue

When times were hard

I remember those days well! A biscuit was usually it from last night; if you were lucky maybe some may hall jelly or a few preserved figs helped but usually the old biscuit.

Stayed hungry all the time, I had to stand in the same place twice just to make a shadow. When we played hide and go seek I could hide behind the flagpole for three days without being seen.

Watched all those other kids eating those meat sandwiches, bag of chips and a nice piece of fruit.

Made up my mind one day when the l… Continue

The only time I get the mssage that you metioned is when I give the post a title, but don't put any content in the post. Are you sure you are putting content in the post each time?

I figured you could take some good natured kidding, otherwise how could you post that you can't post.

Buck. Don't you mean, "UPS expands gas use". Instead of "expans".

Buck. Your new discussion on Chesapeake and Plains selling leasehold is the third time this topic has been posted to the main page. One is still on the main page. The other received no comments and is now off.

Buck. I added CNG to your recent posting "Good Read". I'm always afraid I've missed something good that you've posted, but they get a little confusing when they all say "Good Read".

Buck. The Patriot Proppants article from the Shreveport Times was previously posted as the topic of a discussion by Catfish this morning. It's still on the Main Page.
