I have heard discussions that swn is pulling out of the brown dense.  hope this is a bad rumor, but have any of yall heard this.

SWN may be pulling back from some areas of their holdings but I bet that they will continue to refine their efforts in north Louisiana.

SWN did not renew leases on property I own in Columbia Co. Arkansas so I feel that they must have information that shows that the most productive Brown Dense does not go very far into Arkansas. Wish it was a different situation but maybe some other company will take interest in south Arkansas.

Dan,

The Pettet is doing well. You may see some new interest in your area. SWN's non-renewal may be the best thing that could happen. Check out the Cypress Operating well in Miller Co. (permit #46825) It made 18.5K bbls in less than 4 months. Good numbers at a low AFE.  Better wells may be coming soon. Good Luck !

Thanks for the positive comments, Tony

You are welcome, Dan. Look for some good news in the near future.

I read through the transcript from the last conference call recently held.  The question was ask about the BD.  The answer was that it's not really on the front burner anymore.  The term "head fake" was used a couple of times. Kind of got the impression that they have a couple of more things to try, but if some home runs don't show up soon, it won't be long before its dropped, especially if they do hit home runs else where...

I'm in sec. 16 and we resigned our lease a week ago. But we did not sign with SWN we signed with Anchor. The gentleman said anchor and swn were working together. They even went up 200.00 per acre this time. also said anchor had plans to drill 6 more wells this year. Has anyone else herd anything about the 6 wells

Ankor may be a better fit for the BD Union Parish fairway.  They have been testing the TOM-ROSA CORPORATION for six months now.   Unfortunately the company is privately held and doesn't make much information public.

Oil Field Trash, are you in S16 T22N and R1W? Does the "up 200/ac indicate you received approx. $500 per acre? Who did you talk to an Ankor? I have some land in T23N R1W and have some relatives with some as well so I am interested in your comments. I have only seem them file for one more permit adjacent to their current well so I am not sure where the ohter 5 wells will be.

Any news in Union Parish about the wells permitted by Weiser-Brown or permits by SWE.  It seems very quiet!!!!or news on seismograph operations,  I recently signed of on 220 acres.

Incidentally, SWE did not pick up options on my acreage in Union County ,Ark.  Several thousand acres South Ark. must be dead!!!!Any other owners have their options picked up in So. Ark,????

Here is an excerpt from a proprietary analyst report on SWN this morning.  The bulk of the report is on the Fayetteville and Marcellus plays and new plays in Colorado, Niobrara and Marmaton/Atoka.

"SWN continues to evaluate its lower Smackover Brown Dense play with plans to shoot 3-D seismic over parts of its 459,000 net acres in the play."

I'm not in south Arkansas but SWN did option to release my land 2 miles south of Junction City last week.
