I am sending some information to Chesapeake Energy, but I need a direct name, office,or division to address my letter to. (I don't send correspondance to a large company without that information because I'm afraid it will get lost or just sit on someone's desk).  I have called several times, left my name and phone # to no avail.

I just sent an email to them requesting this information.

When I went to their website, this is what I saw:

You won't have the attention of CHK until you sue them.

CHK mineral lessors should always go through the proper channels to communicate with the company.  Not every circumstance requires litigation or a demand letter.  My personal experience is that if you know what to ask for and the correct staffer to ask it of, CHK customer service tends to work reasonably well more often than not.  There are instances where customer service can not help answer a question or solve a problem and then it's time to take more aggressive action.  LN, is proceeding correctly.

My experience is that my clients get the basic answers and information that they need more often than not from customer service.  My opinion is that those who have substantive legal issues with CHK should engage competent counsel and seek redress through the courts.  And not let their hatred of CHK lead them to urge GHS members such as LN to take an adversarial approach to dealing with the company on the basic issues relevant to the majority of royalty interests.   

That's all well and good, but knowing a few things in advance about a party who is extremely adversarial might cause a person not to do business with that entity.

Obtaining legal representation and going to court is not an easy cure-all. In the words of my former attorney, "Avoid litigation at all cost."

Your last sentence is a non sequitur.

IMO those who seek to promote their anger of Chesapeake, any operating company or the industry in general do a disservice to the laymen members of GHS.  Few have the problem you have. Many are capable of resolving their questions by going through the proper procedures.  I know, I help them do it on a regular basis.  It is obvious to me that LN is already "doing business" with Chesapeake. 

What is wrong with giving someone the benefit of the doubt about using judgment in consuming what is posted? Do we need a nannie or church lady along with landmen (independent or otherwise) to assess what is harmful to mineral owners? Seriously, can CHK's reputation be damaged any more than what it is by what someone says or implies on this board? I am sure mineral owners will have enough sense to make their own decisions. Hopefully this applies to ALL input. If they do not, they will not get a different DNA chain from any source. 

I have had some good results in dealing with Chesapeake landowner relations SOMETIMES.  Others, I find them to be incompetent.
