the bigger the number the larger the aperture, hence more production.... care to share the serial numbers, i would like to look myself :)

I thought they only went up to 64 (?). 20/64 , 24/64 ,.... In these wells 64 would be fully open.

I wonder if they are using bigger pipe on this well.

I looked at it on Sonris. The initial production was 20/64.

Gotta be a typo.

Also look at 238613 & 23919, they show the same choke.
238702 & 238613 are on sections side by side.
Could be a typo on all 3?

Could someone please explain these wells that are showing an 80 choke. It is strange that it is several wells in close proximity to each other. Could it be possible that they have changed these wells with larger pipes? If so, what would be the reason for that?

EB, they may just be equipped with larger choke bodies that would allow a choke opening (80/64") larger than 1".

I looked at neighbor's well and it is now 13/64 choke. I assume that means they are contolling flow. It has gone from 13mcf day to 4mcfd. Am I understanding this correctly--that operator is intentionally slowing the gas flow?

KCM, it is possible. Several operators have indicated their intent to restrict flows during this low price environment.

the info somebody posted from petrohawk? about smaller chokes producing more over a longer period just made sense to me, i think of it almost as an aerosol can, and how puncturing a big hole in it can blow the propellant out and leave a lot of the good stuff trapped. of course that is just my own simplistic understanding.

the wells near me are all Encana and all are on 13-19 chokes and reduced to 4mcfd and projected at that through June 2010

The choke on these wells #238702, 239119 & 238613 was put up to 80 and the estimated potential went down.
Any one have a guess as to what is going on?
