Yep.  And I bet they didn't expect competition on 41907.  Interesting that K-Exploration included a 26% royalty.  Then again a $15K investment may pay off if those 41 acres are located in the right spot.

Using a higher royalty is an old trick. The mineral board tends to want more royalty over bonus.

That makes perfect sense but back in the craziness of 2008 the board passed up a number of bids with higher royalty for those with higher bonus.  We discussed it at the time wondering who was making the decision when competing bids had differing bonus bid and royalty bid.  I think it had to do with local municipalities and school boards nominating public tracts and preferring the quick cash.

This says "Bossier" but isn't T12N/R13W DeSoto Parish?

Its a typo, this is actually lands under Loggy Bayou WMA in bossier parish 15N-10W acording to the official lease sale publication.
