"Yes, you do have to sign the DO in order to receive a check. We had several wells togehter and did sign a DO;they then added another well to that and we did NOT get a DO. We were told that that was acceptable. There were no problems."

Division Orders and W-9's

Is it normal to get a W-9 to fill out and send back before you get Division Orders? Do you HAVE to have the DO's in order to get a check??

Cindy.. I have a very good recommendation for you concerning an attorney that will take excellent care of you. Give me your email and I will give you contact information. The firm is in Dallas. They have already done work for people in Shelby county. Thanks, Jackie

CL. You should have a copy of a deed where the property was purchased/sold or a succession/Judgement of Possession by which you inherited them. In those conveyance documents there should be specific language relating to a "reservation of minerals". If that language is not included, the minerals were sold with the land. If you have succession/judgement of possession document, it may very well make reference to an earlier document regarding the ownership of the surface and minerals. If you do not have any of those documents you might check with Jffree1 for some help. Good Luck.
