From the desk of T. Boone Pickens

Army:

I have some big news to share. The new and improved NAT GAS Act has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives with a level of enthusiasm and momentum we've never had before.

The bill, which is H.R. 1380, was introduced on Wednesday by a team of four Congressmen - two Republicans and two Democrats. You've been reading about the staring contest they're having up in Washington on the budget. Well, getting Members from both sides of the aisle to agree on anything this week would have been impossible if it hadn't been for your support and your conviction that we can get the Pickens Plan adopted if we worked hard enough and long enough.

The four original sponsors are John Sullivan (R-OK), Dan Boren (D-OK), John Larson (D-CT) and Kevin Brady (R-TX). But that's not the end of the story. There were also 76 bipartisan original cosponsors - an almost unbelievable list of 37 Republicans and 40 Democrats from 33 states.

Take a look at the full list HERE, and if your Representative isn't listed, send him or her a quick e-mail or give them a call and ask them to join H.R. 1380 as a co-sponsor.

We're moving ahead now. Let's keep the pressure on and get to the finish line!

- Boone

It's nice to see that six of Louisiana's seven House members co-sponsored the legislation.

I plan to send e-mails to Rep. Fleming and Rep. Alexander thanking them for their continued support of the natural gas industry.

Yes, it is nice to thank those six House members from Louisiana who have agree to either sponsor or co-sponsor HR 1380, the Natural Gas Act.  However, I think it is just as important to contact Rep. Bill Cassidy from Louisiana District 6, which is the Baton Rouge area, either by email or by calling the U. S. House of representative's switch board @ (202) 225-3121 and ask him to co-sponsor HR 1380, the Natural Gas Act.  Does he not understand the importance of natural gas to the State of Louisiana?  Does he really want to be from Louisiana and not support increased use of natural gas and the displacement of coal and diesel?  It is very hard to understand his lack of support.  If he is contacted by enough of us, I predict his position will change in a hurry.  So give him a jingle, Shalers!  Lets see how many days go by until he co-sponsors HR 1380.
I just sent an email to Cassidy. Louisiana Reps should be all over that bill.
